About Us

We’re Emily and Polly and in 2023, combining our interior design and architectural skillsets, we created Oscar Wren Studios – a full service interior design studio based in the Cotswolds and the surrounding areas.

Between us, our backgrounds and training encompass many different areas of design, including not only interiors and architecture but also television set design, textiles and fine art. As such, we have a completely unique and wide-ranging perspective which allows us to tell rich stories with the spaces we create.

With thirty years of firm friendship under our belts, when Covid struck and halted much of our existing design work, we collaborated on the renovation of Polly’s Cheltenham townhouse. Seeing the stunning results, we realised that this was a powerful partnership worth keeping.

Together, we founded Oscar Wren Studios, focussing on practical but beautiful interiors to suit every family dynamic. As a studio we have a passion for prints, colour and texture and all of our work incorporates these ingredients.
In particular we believe that well-designed soft furnishings can elevate a scheme beyond the everyday and we specialise in the design and making of these bespoke elements in our Gloucestershire-based workshop.

EMILY HARROP-GRIFFITHS

CO-FOUNDER & INTERIOR DESIGNER

Emily studied at the prestigious KLC School of Design before working in several top interior design studios across London, gaining a wealth of experience in marrying practical design with beautiful aesthetics

After the birth of her son, George, in 2018, she started to work independently on interior design projects from London townhouses to countryside homes in Sussex, Gloucestershire and the Isle of Wight. She also expanded her skill set to include the making of high-end bespoke soft furnishings.

Before working in the world of interior design, Emily was a Project Manager in central London, giving her the perfect background for managing complex renovations.

When she’s not tinkering endlessly with her own (beautiful) home, Emily enjoys listening to gory true crime podcasts, pottering in her garden and making her own cushions.

POLLY ASPINALL

CO-FOUNDER & INTERIOR DESIGNER

Polly trained as an architect at Cambridge University after completing a Fine Art Foundation at London's Central St Martins. For over a decade she was a Television Set Designer and Art Director, working on modern and period shows like ‘Breeders’, ‘Fleabag’, ‘The Cleaner’, ‘Episodes’ and ‘Horrible Histories’ to name but a few.

With a previous career in commercial branding, Polly is uniquely placed to understand both the intricacies of design as well as the more technical side of a build project.

Her creativity is influenced by a number of sources and her project management skills are unparalleled.

In her spare time, when she’s not wrangling two small humans, Polly enjoys walking her sausage dog Schnitzel, trying to paint and reading avidly.

Emily & Polly were absolutely amazing & did a fab job on our home.

They have a great eye for colour & bringing everything together – using our existing furniture & adding in new elements to set the scheme off. They also challenged the architect’s floor plan, & thank goodness they did or it wouldn’t have turned out as well as it has.
